Bastien has been coaching me for a year now, and his approach has taken my running performance to the next level, both on and off-road. What I appreciate is that he doesn’t offer a standard program, but adapts my schedule every week based on detailed analyses of my past training. His experience in trail running immediately appealed to me, especially since my big goal was the Garmisch-Partenkirchen Trail. We prepared it together and I was able to successfully complete it. Thanks to his continuous follow-up and good communication via WhatsApp, I can effortlessly plan my training schedule and coordinate it with my other activities.

I met Bastien 5 years ago. I was immediately drawn to his personality and his philosophy: “Run better and longer in life.” Since we’ve been working together, I’ve been able to complete my training plans without injuries and feeling great on race day. This is a crucial factor in succeeding in a race. His coaching, professionalism, and mindset have been real assets in achieving my various sporting goals. Of course, we run alone, but we perform together. Thanks to him, my approach to running has evolved considerably today.

Preparing for my first 10 miles competition on my own, I felt like I had just hit a wall, so I contacted Bastien. He was really positive and enthusiastic right from the start, and his enthusiasm was contagious. He began teaching me proper running technique, which took me a few sessions to really get down. But with Bastien’s help and encouragement I persisted and stuck to the training plan. On racing day I felt great excitement, but also a sense of calm, because I knew exactly my strategy and I was going to follow it to the finish line. And so I did! I finished the race in and I cannot even describe the feeling when I reached the end – it was simply amazing. Not only did i succeed, but I feel like I’m just getting started…

After several years of inactivity, I started running again searched online for training plans. The first progress and results followed, but after a while, a plateau also followed after overtraining.
Together with Bastien, we started again at the basics with a program that was adapted to my private life, work, and travels. The focus shifted from the long distance to speed, cadence, heart rate, and technique. For more than six months, we continued to increase the intensity on shorter distances, intermediate goals were achieved, and all of this within a manageable training rhythm.
As soon as you have the slightest question or remark, you can count on Bastien for advice. As soon as fatigue lurks around the corner, the training follow-up can be adjusted or increased if it becomes too easy. Completely tailored to your own lifestyle and running goals.

Dream goal: Run the 7 majors

Life mantra: Live well, do good

When I ran for the first time, it took me 27 minutes to cover 3km, and I almost died out of breath! But surely, after slowly building up during two years, I decided to adventure with the marathon in 2023. At that time my approach was “trying-to-run-as-fast-as-I-can”, a good strategy I thought. And then my story with Brussels Running Coach started, and my world changed. I realized that, although I had run two half-marathons and the 20km of Brussels, I knew nothing about running! And since the beginning of 2023, I’ve learned so much, and I still have a lot to go. Thanks to Tatiana and Bastien, I really now understand that my journey is just beginning!

Life mantra: Strong mind, strong legs

I began training with Tatiana in November 2023 to improve my performance on the track, focusing specifically on the 1500m and 3000m distances. Since then, Tatiana’s coaching has made a significant impact on my running abilities, enhancing my track performance, and translating into strong results in cross-country as well.

In May 2024, I set a personal record at the International School Sport Tournament (ISST) finals in Paris, where I earned silver medals in both the 1500m and 3000m events. Tatiana’s guidance has been instrumental in reaching these milestones.

I’m excited to continue working with Tatiana as I prepare for the 2025 track season. With her guidance and support, I’m confident that I’ll achieve the challenges ahead.

Life mantra: Things can only get better

I have been working with Bastien now for more than six years. Where at first I was looking for a step change in my preparation, today I far more value the training relationship we have built. We have evolved together in preparation: running and nutrition. Whenever I come up with a new plan (this year an Alpine ultra of 113km with 6600m D+) I know that with Bastien I have a very high chance of success. This makes the journey towards the goal a lot more enjoyable and surely less stressful.

Life mantra: It’s not easy being a model

I was running for about two years when Bastien was recommended to me. I was a rather unpolished long-distance runner with ambitions. Bastien’s sober, results-oriented approach has pushed me to new limits in terms of distance, speed, and technique. Thanks to the one-on-one sessions, I’ve also gained a much better understanding of various aspects of training, my attitude, etc… I had decided not to run any races. Now, without realizing it, I’m doing just that, because it’s part of the program to achieve a goal.

So, it turns out that with Bastien’s personal and casual approach, you start doing things you never thought you’d do.

Bastien’s coaching style is methodical, he’s punctual in his feedback and adapts quickly to your schedule and performance, when needed. He’s challenging but relaxed, he’s going to push you, while always listening to your personal needs.
My running performance has strongly improved under his supervision and I learnt a lot about running and myself. Big plus he’s a cool and interesting person to have chat with!
